Officiating since 2019
The thing I hear the most from my couples and their guests is, “You don’t feel like a wedding officiant. You feel like family.”
That’s not by accident. That’s the whole point.
I didn’t set out to become a wedding officiant; I set out to work with couples, full stop. While working toward my degree to become a therapist, I was impatient. I loved love, and I didn’t want to wait years to start doing the work that mattered most to me. So, I found a different door in.
I officiated my first wedding, and never looked back. That “impatience” turned into 200+ ceremonies and counting.
And yes, I did get my degree! I became a licensed couples/relationship therapist, and now I get to do the two things I love: celebrate couples as they get married and support them in building relationships that last.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, I’m a travel enthusiast! So if your wedding takes you across the globe, I’d be happy to come celebrate you abroad! I’m authorized to officiate in Ontario and select U.S. states, so don’t threaten me with a destination wedding, I will absolutely show up with my passport!
My style? Fun, energetic, romantic, and full of feeling. Think of your favourite 90s love song: joyful, a little nostalgic, and known to cause spontaneous smiling, laughter, and the occasional happy tear. All are entirely acceptable.
Can you tell? We don’t do boring over here!
I love God, and when a couple wants their faith reflected in their ceremony, I love getting to honour Him. It genuinely lights me up! And if you’d like some support before the big day, some couples also work with me for premarital counselling, which is a service I offer.
The bottom line: You’ll have a lot of vendors on your wedding day. I want to be the one who feels less like a vendor and more like the friend you’re so glad is standing up there with you. That’s the ceremony I want to give you!
Your officiant on paper. Your favourite wedding guest in spirit.
Signed, Your favourite wedding “guest” officiant.

What couples say
Anita was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING when officiating out wedding. I found her in the Black Queens of Durham, by just searching "wedding officiant". I reached out, and from the very first conversation I felt absolutely comfortable and that never changed from then till the end. She was knowledgeable and advised on when to do certain things, the legality things and even suggested personal things that we can incorporate. She also mailed off our marriage license to the necessary parties for us. I would reco

We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our wedding! Anita was a good friend of ours before our wedding, which made having her be such an important part of our day even more special. But she also brought such professionalism, warmth, and fun to the role. Our wedding day was definitely stressful at times, but she made the ceremony and everything surrounding it feel completely seamless. She was wonderful with our guests, keeping everyone entertained and comfortable before we arrived, and
